What is UTRGV Day of Giving?
UTRGV Day of Giving is a one-day fundraising event to build a better and brighter Rio Grande Valley. On August 30, we encourage you to give to the area of UTRGV that matters most to you - academics, scholarships, athletics, research initiatives, and more. With your support, the possibilities for what we can achieve together are infinite!
UTRGV Day of Giving can make a real difference for our students and the community. Better yet, YOU make it possible!

Besides giving, how can I make an impact during UTRGV Day of Giving?
There are many ways to show your Vaquero spirit and make an impact during UTRGV Day of Giving! For example:
- Spread the word by sharing the event with your friends, family, and networks;
- Encourage your followers to make a gift, or send an email and text message with a direct link to our site; or
- Post about UTRGV Day of Giving on your social media channels using #OneUTRGV #PowerOfOne and #UTRGVDayofGiving.
Whichever method you choose, your voice will make an enormous difference in the success of UTRGV Day of Giving!

Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is a tax-exempt organization, as described in Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. You will receive an email acknowledgment of your gift that will serve as a receipt.
What address should I list?
Be sure to enter the address associated with the credit card you're using; otherwise, the transaction won't go through.
Can I make more than one gift?
Absolutely! Make sure to select the "add another designation" button and add as many gifts as you'd like.
How do I make a gift?
Click on the "Give Now" button on the Day of Giving homepage. Start by selecting the program you want to support (you can always gift to more than one!) and then the fund that aligns with your interests - scholarships, a specific program, athletics, or any other designation. Can't see what fund you want to support? Select "other" and then fill in the text box with where to direct your gift. We are so grateful for your generosity!
What if I don't see the area of campus where I want to direct my gift?
On the donation form, under "UTRGV Programs and Departments," select "Other"; then under "Fund Designation," select the second "Other" option and type in the box where to designate your gift.
Do I have to make a gift online?
While making an online gift is the easiest way to participate in Day of Giving, you can also make your gift by mail or phone. Call us at (956) 665-5301 to make a gift over the phone. You can mail a check made out to UTRGV to the address below with "Day of Giving 2023" in the memo line. Please include a note with information about how you'd like your gift to be designated.
