UTRGV Day Of Giving 2023

The UTRGV School of Social Work is committed to preparing professional social workers to meet the needs of a bi-national and multicultural community. The educational emphasis is on social work practice with Latinos, considering multicultural competence, ethical practice, knowledge building, and social services. 

The mission of social work is to 1) provide effective and efficient social work services to people in need; 2) alleviate poverty, oppression, and discrimination; and 3) promote social and economic justice. This is accomplished by applying ethical and responsible standards of practice, advocacy, activism, and leadership in agency settings.
